Skip to 1:30 on this video for a priceless reaction. Three Members of Minnesota’s delegation — Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D) and Reps. Tim Walz (D) and Collin Peterson (D) — fielded questions during an agricultural symposium held at South Central College in North Mankato, Minnestoa. Besides issues surrounding the recently passed farm bill, the trio also fielded questions about the Affordable Care Act. At ~1:30 you’ll see Peterson go speechless when one attendee engages the committee and says, “I thought the Affordable Healthcare Act would save $2,500 per family,” before asking, “What happened?”
“This healthcare discussion has got to be broader, it has got to point out where there are weaknesses and failures, it’s got to make sure we’re not leaving people behind or distorting the system,” Walz responded. “But, don’t pretend there was some sort of safe harbor before this where everything was just peachy keen.”
According to Melissa Quinn of Red Alert Politics, “Many Democrats are finding themselves faced with angry constituents over the implementation of the healthcare law.” Isn’t that the truth? Jimmy Kimmel skewered the law on his late show for its incessant protocol. Seriously people, broken system or not, you can’t fix red tape with red tape.
