What’s New in Atlas.md? Weight and Height Information in Atlas-Issued Prescriptions.

We subscribe to the theory that the more information a doctor or pharmacist has about a particular subject or situation, the better informed their medical decisions. And so from that point of view, we’re happy to announce the addition of weight and height information on prescriptions issued through Atlas.md.

Why is this important? Well, it means both doctor and pharmacist will have all the necessary information in situations where prescriptions have to be issued, and the weight and height of a patient are important for accurately and safely dispensing medication.

There are two different ways that the height and weight information will find its way onto a prescription:

  • Users can enter the information manually when creating a prescription, or
  • Atlas.md will automatically include a patient’s height and weight from the most recent vitals reading if it’s available (you can edit this value before the prescription is issued)

Once entered, the information will appear directly on the prescription when it is printed or faxed to a pharmacy.

This is just another step we’re taking to make prescribing medication that much safer, easier, and more accurate.
