What’s New in Atlas? Form Invitations, ICD-10 Search, QR Refill Improvements, and More.

While the days continue to chill we’re happy to announce a few new features – and the improvement of some existing ones – that we’ve been working on during the fall. These enhancements go a long way to improving Atlas.md’s functionality, helping you save time and provide even better healthcare.

Form Invitations

Having patients manually fill out forms is time-consuming for all parties involved. To help users gather data more quickly and effectively, we recently introduced Form Invitations, a feature that allows doctors to email forms directly to patients within Atlas.md. Time that would otherwise be spent manually inputting data can now be directed towards patients.

ICD-10 Search and Improvements

We introduced an ICD-10 Search to help users find ICD references more simply in the app. Since its inception, we’ve made some improvements so that users can now perform multiple searches simultaneously and export ICD data in an Excel-friendly format.

We also upgraded to ICD-10-CM 2021 to, among other things, accommodate for the new Covid-19 and vaping-related disorders codes. It’s now easy to tag and search for Covid and other related ICD cases.

Improvements to QR Refills

Since launching QR Refills we’ve made several important tweaks. When requesting a refill, patients can now add comments and provide information to the doctor handling the refill. Doctors can now also give patients the option of determining how they would like to receive their refill. This means fewer calls, less admin, and more thorough communication.

Improvements to Growth Charts

Finally, we have continued to improve on Growth Charts in a number of ways. Whereas previously visual charts were only provided for CDC charts, the feature now also provides full visual growth chart support for WHO charts.

We also added full support for both the imperial and metric systems of growth charts, respecting the account-level setting for units. Now you can view growth charts metrics in whatever way works best for you.

Lastly, we added a #growth macro that allows users to include a quick text-based representation of the most recent growth data of the patient. This is especially useful when adding text notes and reports to a patient’s chart.

What’s New in Atlas? QR Refills

At Atlas, we’re always looking for ways to streamline the prescription process and make getting necessary medicine to patients as easy as possible. With our new QR Refill feature, we’re putting the convenience of remote refill requests into the hands of patients and providing doctors with more choice on how they want to handle refills.

Precision Prescribing

One of the main benefits of running an in-house pharmacy is being able to dispense the exact amount of medication that a patient requires. This reduces the risk of both overprescription and general waste. Once a patient runs out of medication, however, acquiring a refill becomes a bit tricky.

Typically the patient would have to call a clinic and speak to a doctor or physically visit the clinic in order to request a refill. In some cases, the clinic in question might reach out to the patient before their medication runs out. Both scenarios are time-consuming.

Rapid Refills

With the new QR Refill feature, doctors now have the option of including a QR code on prescription labels and medication bottles. Once a patient’s medication runs out, they can request a refill simply by scanning the QR code with their smartphone.

Once the QR code of a label has been scanned, the doctor who dispensed the medication will receive a notification asking them to approve or dismiss the prescription refill request. This eliminates the need for patient calls and visits with regards to prescription refills, saving massive amounts of time for both doctors and patients.

Activation Required

As a precaution against disrupting our users’ current dispensing and refill processes, QR Refills are disabled for existing Altas.md accounts, so you’ll have to enable the feature before you and your patients can start using it. All Atlas.md accounts registered after the rollout of this feature, however, will have the feature enabled by default. Check out our help article for information about enabling QR Refills.

What’s New in Atlas? Improvements to Growth Charts, Family Management, and More.

We want to thank our Atlas users and all of you in the healthcare field for everything you’re doing to help keep the world moving forward in these strange times. Though Atlas.md is always pushing ahead, we’ve held off on publishing a few new features until the time was right. The last thing we wanted to do was distract our users with changes that required their attention during a stressful time. But we have been watching how you’ve been using Atlas during this new normal, and we want to highlight a few minor upgrades that we hope will help.

After quite a few user requests, we recently replaced traditional growth charts with a tabular version to allow for more flexibility when calculating percentiles from both the CDC and the WHO datasets. However, after launching and receiving feedback, we quickly realized that many users also prefer visual graphs. With those responses in mind, we’ve revised growth charts to include both growth percentile tables and visual charts with CDC information.

Improved Family Management

We’ve introduced a new Family Management page that lets you manage and review family members, and provides a clear breakdown of their status within Atlas.md. From there you now also have the option to change the Head of Household, rename the family, and more.

Improved Video Calling

Video calling is now supported by most major browsers, the only exception being Chrome on devices using an iOS operating system. On top of that, doctors can now send out multiple video call invites to different patients which will be answered on a first-come-first-served basis should two or more patients answer simultaneously. These video invites can now be sent via SMS and email

Companies Collection List

Companies can now be added to the collections list in the same way that patients can. This makes it easier to see which companies are falling behind in their payments, and to organize them in a single localized list.

We’ve been devoting quite a bit of time to making Atlas.md more accessible for companies, starting with improvements to the Employee Enrollment feature. When creating enrollment forms for employees, users can now include their own fully customized enrollment fees. This provides users with the flexibility and specificity to fine-tune their fees based on the employer and their respective offerings.

What’s New in Atlas? Employee Enrollment Form.

In recent months we’ve turned our focus towards making Atlas more accessible and effective for companies and businesses. Our latest feature, Employee Enrollment Form, does just that by making the process of enrolling company employees into Atlas a more streamlined and straightforward affair.

Customized Employee Enrollment

Signing up to any clinic or medical service often involves an extensive amount of paperwork. For larger companies with dozens or hundreds of employees, this can be quite a time-consuming process. To make this entire operation less painful, we developed the Employee Enrollment Form feature. This lets companies create their own partially customized enrollment form that can then be shared with employees.

This feature can be enabled from the Company profile page in Atlas and functions almost exactly the same as the normal enrollment form. Users can customize certain aspects of their enrollment form, such as patient coverage, in order to refine their offerings based on their company needs and requirements. These customizations work independently and won’t affect any settings of the main account enrollment form.

Once enabled, users will be given an embeddable enrollment form link which they can then email to or share with employees. Any patient that enrolls from this link will then automatically be assigned as an employee of that company profile within Atlas.

What’s New in Atlas.md? DrFirst and e-Prescription Integration.

At Atlas, we believe that equipping doctors with the latest tools is one of the most effective ways of helping them provide quality healthcare. In the latest update, in an effort to push the boundaries on what Atlas can deliver, we’ve partnered with DrFirst to give doctors the capacity to prescribe and manage medication electronically.

Putting Doctors First with DrFirst and Rcopia

DrFirst is a company specializing in healthcare solutions and medical software. They offer numerous tools and services aimed at streamlining the process of managing and prescribing medication, and we’ve teamed up with them in order to equip Atlas with e-prescription capabilities utilizing their prescription software, Rcopia.

Once Atlas is integrated with Rcopia you’ll be able to simply and electronically prescribe medication to your patients. You’ll also have full control over the prescriptions and their quantities using Rcopia’s inventory management system. This doesn’t mean there’ll be any extra administration or number-crunching. All actions taken within Rcopia are automatically synchronized in Atlas, ensuring your patient charts and prescription histories are always up to date.

To get started with Rcopia, you’ll first need to register. Get in touch with us and, together with DrFirst, we’ll guide you through the process step by step. For more information about registering, check out our help article.

Once Rcopia is successfully integrated you’ll be able to access it via a new eRx button on your Atlas interface. From here you’ll easily be able to prescribe medication to patients and manage your e-prescriptions.

With DrFirst you’ll also be able to enroll in a prescription drug monitoring program, or PDMP. You can find more information about PDMPs here.

What’s New in Atlas? Chart Filtering.

Data has an unruly habit of accumulating in huge quantities in short spaces of time, so it’s important to be able to sift through it all when you’re looking for something specific. Atlas’ new Chart Filtering feature allows you to do just that.

Now, instead of having to manually search through charts for a diagnosis or prescription, you can now simply filter through chart streams based on criteria such as the date, author and the following data types:

  • Notes
  • External messages
  • Tasks
  • Appointments
  • Attachments
  • Diagnosis
  • Prescriptions
  • Labs
  • Faxes
  • Rubicon
  • Form answers

You can access Chart Filtering by clicking on the cog menu within the patient chart page.

Chart Filtering is just another way in which Atlas is making it easier and faster for doctors to provide more informed healthcare to their patients.

What’s New in Atlas? Forms.

Information and data are some of the most crucial modern tools being leveraged in the healthcare industry in order to deliver smarter, more informed care. Atlas’ new feature, Forms, is designed to make it easier than ever to collect and use this data.

Custom Forms

Gif of a clipboard and formWhereas traditionally doctors had to rely on manual charts and forms, now users can create custom, digital forms within Atlas for patients to fill in. Like traditional hospital checklists and flowsheets, these forms can then be answered to gather and track data over time.

 

 

 

The type of data gathered is entirely up to the doctor in question. Forms simply provides a blank but structured canvas that gives users complete discretion with regards to parameters of the questions they would like to ask, as well as the type of answers that they would like patients to give. It also allows for customization of the value field of the answers for greater specificity.

Once you’ve created a form, you can give it to as many patients and have it answered as many times as you like. You can then easily view and manage all of your forms and patient responses on the Forms dashboard.

Forms can also be answered outside of patient charts allowing doctors to use day-to-day checklists when running their practices.

What’s New in Atlas? Easy Reporting Feature.

Atlas has always allowed doctors to make their patients’ lives easier, but we also want to make it easy for doctors to help companies and businesses provide care for their employees.

Now, when companies request data and stats on their employees’ care, doctors can quickly pull, download, and email accurate reports to the companies they partner with.

With our new Utilization Report feature, clinics can check all of the following details about how employees are experiencing care with their clinic:

  • Total # of patients
  • Total # of appointments
  • Total # of prescriptions
  • Number of patients with at least 1 appointment
  • In-house dispensed prescriptions
  • Lab requests
  • Lab results
  • SMS messages
  • Emails
  • SMS Messages (outside office hours)
  • Emails (outside office hours)
  • Phone calls (outside office hours)

Businesses Can Now Track and Engagement

Utilization Reports make it possible for businesses to analyze their employees’ healthcare paths, but it’s also useful for clinics. Clinics are able to tweak existing offers and tailor new offers based on how employees are experiencing care.

Atlas.md makes it even easier for companies and individuals to get and give personalized care.

What’s New in Atlas? Security for Security’s Sake

Atlas has always taken users’ security and flexibility to heart. We want our docs to be able to work the way they want to work. Today we’re giving you even more flexibility with how you secure your data.

We’ve had two-factor authentication (2FA) in the app for a long time now, and we sincerely hope that you’ve all had that enabled and are relying on it as yet another check. But many people don’t realize that SMS–like everything these days it seems–has its own vulnerabilities. 

Modern security standards advocate for a new sort of 2FA. One that relies on really strong cryptographic calculations instead of mobile messages winging through the air. Basically you install an app on your phone or device that continually updates a passcode based on an agreed-upon handshake with Atlas. 

This is such an oversimplification it’s a bit unfair, but for the sake of brevity, that’s how you can think about it. If you really want to understand more about how it works click over here.

Atlas now supports this more secure authentication method, and we hope all of our clinics adapt it into their workflow. You’ll need to make sure all your users grab one of those apps and then enable it on your settings page. The new help article on it will walk you through all the details. We’ve even got a nice video to help a complicated thing get simple. 

We hope you’ll enjoy the new security flexibility built into this feature. It’s peace of mind that you’re doing your best to keep your patient health data as safe as it can be. In the meantime, we’ll be over here trying to explain to people the difference between MFA, 2FA, MMS, and SMS … so many acronyms these days.

What’s New in Atlas? Mentions and More!

Communication is the backbone of your business, and we’re always developing ways to help make communication between patients and colleagues even easier. With a smooth and quick mentions feature, you can now get answers or feedback even faster than before.

Atlas is helping you get a little more organized. Instead of trudging through your inbox, we wanted to free up communication by letting you tag people in notes and when sending files.

Whenever you have a quick question for a doctor, need a colleague to review an item or file, or want to share a document before sending it back to your patients, you can now ping your colleagues that much faster by adding the “@” symbol before their name.

Your team members will be able to access and reply to all mentions quickly, so you can keep patient records organized and keep your practice running smoothly. Doesn’t that feel lighter?

We didn’t want to stop by improving your messaging experience. We’ve also made at-a-glance stats a thing. Now you can grab all this when you export patient lists:
